Don Click - Katy, TX
Don Click’s foresight, talent and leadership have established one of the most consistently creative and successful Independent World Percussion ensembles: The Music City Mystique. Don is a co-founder of the Music City Mystique Youth Organization and served as their Executive Director until 2006.

Don’s leadership served as a model for which several other Independent World ensembles would follow in hopes to be as artistic, effective, competitive and consistent as the Music City Mystique. Don’s passion for teaching has rubbed off on many of his students. He teaches that part of instructing is all about giving others back the experience you had as a performer. It is this mindset that has helped produce a first rate organization on and off the floor.

With Winter Guard International, Don has been a consistent contributor while holding roles with the Percussion Advisory Board, Percussion Steering Committee, Board of Directors and the Executive Board. He is among a small handful of people whose vision clearly shaped the direction of the indoor activity in a time when it was evolving quickly. Don also served as President of the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit where he was the Percussion Coordinator where he helped build the indoor percussion activity at a local level.

Don currently lives in Katy, TX with his wife, Stephanie and two children, Avery and Piper where he is the Director of Marketing for Pro-Mark Corporation. He continues to serve on the Music City Mystique Board of Directors as well as the design team. He has taught and continues to arrange and consult at various high schools throughout the nation and is a sought after judge both for marching band competitions as well as winter percussion shows.

Daniel’s commitment to excellence, combined with his dedication to his students helped him lead the Franklin Central Percussion Symphony to six WGI Scholastic Concert titles in seven years. Franklin Central would return to the floor attempting to exceed the standards they set the year prior, sweeping audiences to their feet before their shows had even finished.

As their director and arranger, Daniel helped change the way people think about WGI Concert Percussion. The Franklin Central Percussion Symphony went on to increase awareness of WGI Percussion through performances at PAS, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference, and the Indiana Music Educator’s State Convention.

Daniel was instrumental in developing the percussion activity on a local level as a founding member of the Indiana Percussion Association and has served as Secretary and President. Daniel is a member of the Winter Guard International Percussion Advisory Board, the Percussive Arts Society, the Indiana Music Educators Association. Daniel has been a huge positive influence on WGI all over the country in lectures, seminars, judging clinics as well as his educational articles which have been published in School Band and Orchestra Magazine as well as WGI FOCUS.

Nation-wide, Mike is regarded as one of the indoor percussion trendsetters. Mike’s programs have been some of the most memorable, esteemed, and epitomized shows our activity has ever seen. His work as inspired countless designers, arrangers and educators.
