WGI is launching the next step in the marching arts on March 24 but fans already are seeing demonstrations at select regionals and will see lots more at the Color Guard and Percussion World Championships next month.
WGI Winds presents marching wind ensembles in the same performance environment as indoor color guard and percussion ensembles to showcase their musicianship with any kind of instrumentation. So far audiences in Dayton, Denver, and Indianapolis have enjoyed demonstrations by Alter HS, Avon HS, and Royal Sound of WGI’s newest venture. Response has been excellent and interest is growing daily across the U.S. and internationally.
The demonstrations will continue this weekend in Cincinnati at the Mid-East Color Guard Championships with encore presentations by Alter HS and Royal Sound and Northglenn Performance Theatre debuting their winds program at the Denver Percussion Regional.
Perennial fan favorite Aimachi from Nagoya, Japan, will be making a special trip to the Percussion World Championships to join Alter HS and Northglenn Performance Theatre giving live WGI Winds demonstrations all weekend. If you’re not in Dayton, then tune into the Fan Network live webcast to witness amazing color guard and percussion performances and see for yourself how WGI Winds is going to be the next extraordinary performance opportunity for students.
Stayed tuned to WGI.org for more details on WGI Winds launching March 24.
