As usual, the dates are set, the arenas are booked, and the anticipation is high, but unlike any other year, the 2013 WGI World Championships are gearing up to be the largest competition Dayton, Ohio has ever seen. With a record amount of groups planning to compete for the title, the contest event schedule has just been posted.

Take a look at the tentative schedules here.

“We are experiencing an amazing 15% increase in the number of participating groups for both weekends of the 2013 World Championships,” says WGI Director of Operations, Bart Woodley.   “As a result, we are adding a third location of competition for the percussion weekend for the first time ever. “

Another first will occur when Max Percussion Theatre takes the floor as the first percussion ensemble to compete from Thailand. This year promises to be WGI’s most international event to date with Canada, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Japan all being represented over the two weekends of competition.
