obsession [noun] \äb-se-shən\: a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an unreasonable idea or feeling; often accompanied by compelling repetitive behaviors
For the 2010 season, Premonition looks inside the minds of those with obsessions and compulsions. The use of repetitive equipment work and movement gives the audience an uneasy feeling of being caught in the middle of a rigid, obsessive mind. The anxiety builds as performers get trapped into compulsive loops of behavior. They struggle for control as they cycle through repeating actions, checking locks, and opening and closing doors. Look for costumes by ALGY to assist in representing the struggle within one’s mind over those obsessive ideas and compulsive behaviors. Premonition dares to ask….”What is YOUR obsession….???”
Premonition is under the direction of Shannon Berkstresser & Amanda Rehn with staff including Liza Goitia, Marcus Rankin, Jack Pursifull, Chad Berkstresser, Cheryl Wimberley, Brandin Stratman, Sarah Main, John Williams, Erika Meads and Karen Linnemeyer.
