Flashback Friday: WGI Artifacts – 1993 Percussion Tapes

Today for Flashback Friday we bring you the tapes of the first ever WGI Percussion World Championships that were made over two decades ago in 1993. Indoor percussion was still in its early stages that began with exhibition shows with the Percussive Arts Society. There were only seven scholastic indoor drumline competitors that made it out to the 93′ Percussion World Championships. At the time, not many independent ensembles were created yet leaving forth the first percussion champion, Clovis West HS from Fresno, CA. Twenty-three years later, the WGI Percussion World Championships is bigger and better than ever.
