Bio Damon Padilla has been involved in the marching arts for over 30 years. He began as a performer with both the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and the Thunderbolts Winter Guard. He then moved on to teaching and designing with Chimeras Winter Guard. In his ten years with Chimeras, the guard quickly moved up the ranks from "A" to "Open" to "World"; winning the Open Class World Championship and becoming a two-time WGI "Fan Favorite". His winter guard résumé also includes numerous well known high school programs including Pomona H.S., John Overton H.S., Cypress Creek H.S., and Father Ryan H.S. Damon has also designed and choreographed for many drum and bugle corps over the years. These groups include the Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Knights, Phantom Regiment, Madison Scouts, and the Pride of Soka from Tokyo, Japan. In addition to his creative endeavors, Damon also enjoys serving as a clinician and judge. He has been a 5-time featured clinician at the annual BOA/Music for All Summer Symposium, leading both director and student sessions in visual design and rehearsal techniques. He also spent 10 years as the color guard director for Positive Performance Concepts, a camp/clinic he helped create and develop for students of smaller band programs in the Mid-South area. He currently judges for the Gulf Coast Judges Association, Winter Guard International, and Drum Corps International. Damon resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Outside of his work in the marching arts, he is also a Licensed Massage Therapist and the founder and owner of Rare Energy, his bodywork and holistic healing studio.
