📻 River City Rhythm Goes “On The Air” with War of the Worlds

Video by Jackson Arnold

Adapted as a broadcast from the Foshay Ballroom (a nod to the Minneapolis landmark), the Minnesota-based River City Rhythm recreated the famous 1938 “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast and its fallout. The broadcast, which was a fictional drama, by many historical accounts caused panic among listeners who thought they were hearing a real world news broadcast about invading alien spacecraft.

Videographer Jackson Arnold joined River City Rhythm at Winds Open Class Finals to learn more about their 2026 adaptation of this story, titled “On The Air.”
