For the first time in 30 years, the WGI World Championships Opening Ceremony returns! At the apex of WGI’s historic 50th anniversary season, the organization is holding an opening ceremony each weekend to kick off its World Championships events.
These ceremonies will celebrate 50 years of artistry, excellence, and community across all three divisions, and all competing groups at the 2027 World Championships are encouraged to attend. Featuring live performances, historical tributes, and an immersive visual finale, these events offer a chance to celebrate some of the best moments in WGI history while becoming part of it.
Details for each Opening Ceremony are below. Groups will confirm attendance during their 2027 registration in September. Additional tickets for spectators will be available at a later date.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes! In addition to the usual practice availability, WGI has secured additional practice time for groups on Tuesday and Wednesday. To allow our community to celebrate together, WGI will not sell practice time on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.
We estimate the Opening Ceremony will last approximately 1 hour.
The expo tent will not be open on Wednesday, but merchandise will be available for sale on the concourse prior to the start of the ceremony.
Seating will be reserved for groups who RSVP. This will be a ticketed event, and you will receive tickets for all performing members plus 10 additional entries for staff, chaperones, and others traveling with your group. Groups who purchase a Plus Pass for World Championships will receive an extra 7 wristbands.

Once we have confirmed seating for all participating groups attending the Opening Ceremony, we plan to make a limited quantity of seats available for public purchase.
