WGI is looking for photographers, content creators, and videographers to provide media coverage at your local regional events! These are volunteer positions.
This is a great way to gain content creation experience and build a portfolio. Team members must have their own equipment to gather coverage of the weekend’s events.
Equipment needed includes a camera for photographers. Content creators must have equipment to capture and upload content on site, like a phone or tablet, or camera equipment to film and edit a video montage.

Social Media Content Creator
Details: WGI Social Media Content Creators provide live coverage of their regional events on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Using a camera, mobile phone, or tablet, content creators can capture and post action shots, short form video clips, and behind-the-scenes content giving WGI ensembles exposure to an online audience of nearly half a million people.
Content creators can receive mentorship and guidance from the WGI Digital Marketing Manager to perform this role.
Content creators will come away from their regional with event coverage experience and a significant amount of material to add to a portfolio.
Role Requirements:
- Strong attention to spelling/punctuation/grammar.
- Access to a camera, mobile phone, or tablet for capturing content.
- Proficiency with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
WGI Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must not be performing with an ensemble.
- Must complete a free background check.
Preferred, but not required:
- Basic knowledge of dance/visual technique, or equipment technique for color guard.
- Pursuing a degree in marketing, journalism, photography, film, or communications.

Videographer
Details: WGI Videographers capture the experience of attending a regional and deliver an edited recap of the weekend. Videographers will capture performance footage, establishing shots, behind-the-scenes moments, and interviews to give WGI ensembles and regional hosts exposure to an audience of nearly half a million people.
Videographers can receive mentorship and guidance from the WGI Digital Marketing Manager to perform this role.
Videographers will come away from their regional with event coverage experience and a finished video to add to a portfolio.
Role Requirements:
- Prior experience in video production and video editing.
- Access to a camera for capturing footage.
- Proficiency with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
WGI Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must not be performing with an ensemble.
- Must complete a free background check.
Preferred, but not required:
- Basic knowledge of dance/visual technique, or equipment technique for color guard.
- Pursuing a degree in film, journalism, photography, marketing, or communications.

Photographer
Details: Photographers will capture action shots of competing groups and performers at regional WGI events. WGI will promote your photography website and sales of the images you capture. This is a volunteer position.
Role Requirements:
- Must have professional photography experience.
- Must have access to camera equipment.
- Must have a passion for the performing arts.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must not be performing with a group this season.
- Must complete a free background check.
