A Recap of WGI 2025!

As we wrap up another exciting year, we’re reflecting on some of the standout moments that made 2025 special for our organization and the indoor marching arts community.

Check out a few of our highlights from the year below!

1. The unveiling of WGI Studio and our new Participant Protection Courses

This fall, we announced the launch of WGI Studio, a new learning management platform designed to meet the diverse needs of the indoor marching arts community.  WGI Studio will be the home of the Participant Protection Practice (3P) series!

The 3P Series includes custom-built educational courses designed to establish a strong foundation in safety, ethical behavior, and preventive practices across the WGI community.

2. Introduction of Regional+ events for the 2026 season

These newly designated regionals mark a significant evolution in the competitive landscape, improving the accessibility of traditional Power Regional events with an enhanced adjudication model to better serve performers and educators across the activity.

3. WGI Announces event in Costa Rica in May 2026

WGI Latin America announced its plans to host an event in Costa Rica in May of 2026. This marks the return of events in Costa Rica following the global pandemic in 2020.

4. WGI Circuit Symposium Featured Active Shooter Training Programs for all participants

Representatives from local indoor marching arts circuits traveled to Dayton, Ohio to share information, refine strategies, and learn about new policies and procedures with members of the WGI administration.

All of the WGI circuit partners and office staff at the meeting also took part in an Active Shooter Response Training program, hosted by A.L.I.V.E., to proactively inform and prepare the indoor marching arts community in the event of such a crisis.
