1. Teach color guard classes during the day and attend all rehearsals that require color guard attendance.

2. Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by NCISD and administrative regulations. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.

3. Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.

4. Collaborate with other staff in planning and implementing the use of technologies, instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements.

5. Demonstrate professional appearance and attitude, be well organized and detail oriented.

6. Be flexible and able to adjust your daily routine, have the ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and during summer practices, attending all performances and competitions where the color guard is in attendance.

7. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the ability, maturity, and interests of students.

8. Establish control in the classroom and administer discipline in accordance with board policies and administrative regulations.

9. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

10. Help with administration of Band and Color Guard Programs, inventory care, and maintenance of color guard equipment and uniforms.

11. Plan recruiting and retention processes and events for the program.

12. Plan and execute the audition process for all groups for both fall and winter.

13. Keep informed of, and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

14. Articulate the district’s mission and goals in the area of counseling to the community, when appropriate, and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
