JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate will work closely with our Program Coordinator and Designers to develop and teach technique programs and routines suitable for all ability levels in the Klein Collins Marching Band; develop concepts, designs, and training for the Klein Collins Junior Varsity and Varsity Winter Guards. Recruit and retain members in the program.

DUTIES:
● Teach two classes of guard in the school day;
● Plan recruiting and retention actions for the program;
● Plan and execute the audition process for all groups in the Fall and Winter;
● Prepare and teach a technique program aligned with the needs of our Fall design;
● Maintain, manage and supervise inventory of all color guard equipment;
● Be able to teach band choreography and assist with the visual program provided by the Design team;
● Establish a training program to grow the skill level of members through their persistence in the program;
● Clearly communicate to parents the expectations of the program both verbally and in writing;
● Hire and supervise all guard technicians that will work with the program;
● Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with the band staff and effectively communicate
the needs and future plans of the program;
● Maintain active and informed membership in the TCGC Circuit, present Klein Collins as a viable host
for events and run the contest coordination as a host site;
● Work closely with the Booster organization and parents to organize fundraising, prop building, and other
efforts to support your units;
● Create, oversee and appropriately manage the color guard budget;
● Follow campus, district, and Booster procedures for handling and spending funds;
● Show organization and punctuality in all program activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
● High school diploma and ability to possess a TEA Educational Aide I certification
● Previous experience as a Color Guard Director
● Extensive experience as a performing member in groups outside the scholastic level;
● Attend all camps, rehearsals, football games, and contests.

COMPENSATION:
● Full-Time employment as a paraprofessional in Klein ISD teaching only Color Guard
● TRS retirement and Klein ISD insurance provided as a full-time employee
● 2022/23 compensation 184 Day Contract / 7.5 hours a day. Min – $22.21 / Max – $29.21
