Lamar Consolidated High School is seeking a Color Guard Director for the 2025–2026 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a developing program with strong administrative and band staff support. The position includes directing both the fall marching season and winter guard, including junior high and high school classes.
The high school color guard is a regular participant at TCGC SRA.
This is not a paraprofessional position. Pay is competitive, based on experience, and includes a stipend.
Primary Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all aspects of the High School and Junior High Color Guard and Winter Guard programs.
Design and teach choreography for the fall marching show and winter guard productions.
Lead all rehearsals, attend all football games, competitions (TCGC/WGI), and related events.
Collaborate closely with band directors on show design, instructional strategies, and program planning.
Manage equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
Recruit and retain students through a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience directing or assisting with color guard and/or winter guard at the high school or collegiate level.
Background in choreography and advanced equipment technique (flag, rifle, sabre).
Strong dance training and performance background.
WGI/DCI performance or instructional experience preferred but not required.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
