Pieper High School in San Antonio, Texas, is looking immediately for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to lead our Color Guard program for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.  The school and band program is finishing its fourth year of existence, as Pieper opened in the fall of 2021.  In a very short time, the band and color guard program have exploded both in terms of participation and success.  This next year, the color guard will have around 50 students based on our audition and spring training participation.

Pieper has maintained a varsity and junior varsity color guard since our second year of the program.  In the last three years, our varsity color guard has advanced from a Regional A level to a National A competitive unit, advanced to the Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championships, and successfully competed as a finalist in the WGI San Antonio, Austin, and New Braunfels regionals.  Our junior varsity color guard competed in the TCGC JV Regional A classification for two seasons, winning at their area championships for both, before being promoted to the JV scholastic A classification and advancing to the TCGC State Championship this last year.  Both groups are projected to return almost their entire membership for next year with very few seniors graduating.

The guard position is an independent contractor position with our district, not a certified teacher position.  It is paid with a combination of district funds via the independent contract and supplemental pay from our band booster organization.  Salary will be very competitive, and negotiable dependent on experience and responsibilities within the program.  There is a large budget for technicians, equipment, and costumes.  We do hope to have our candidate hired by the end of the school year to either implement summer training with our students, or begin video training with our students before the July 28th camp start date.

The Pieper Band of Warriors is a two-time consecutive Texas 5A UIL State Championship participant and multi-time Bands of America Regional Finalist.  Our color guard is a massive component of our program supported by the school and community.  We are looking for our next great teacher to continue their development and take them to new heights!
