The John Jay Fine-Arts Program is seeking a full-time Color-guard/Dance-guard teacher.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare and teach color guard routines and marching drill design as outlined by the Director of Bands
2. Teach the color guard class
3. Run morning or afternoon rehearsals for both marching and winter guard seasons
4. Assist Field Dance director with teaching dance fundamentals
5. Teach Dance Guard class and spring winter guard curriculum
6. Maintain safe and orderly classroom
7. Maintain equipment inventory and care of guard equipment and uniforms
8. Assist Director of Bands with administrative records and prepare reports
9. Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the Director of Bands and/or Field Dance director
10. Supervise students during the school day and outside of school hours as assigned
11. Attend staff development training programs to improve job performance
12. Participate in staff meetings and special events as assigned
13. Maintain reliable and regular attendance
14. Recruit color guard members
15. Attend practices, performances, contests and games as assigned
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Bands, Field Dance director or principal
