Upper Moreland Marching Unit – Percussion Staff Openings

The Upper Moreland School District Marching Unit is seeking qualified and motivated percussion staff for the upcoming fall season. We are currently hiring for both:
– Front Ensemble (Pit) Staff
– Battery Percussion Staff

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing program focused on musical excellence, student leadership, and a positive ensemble culture.

Position Responsibilities:
– Instruct and develop students in technique, musicality, and performance
– Collaborate with the director and design team on show development
– Assist with rehearsals, sectionals, and performance preparation
– Foster a positive, inclusive, and educational environment for all students

Schedule Expectations:
Summer Rehearsals:
– Tuesday & Thursday evenings (weekly)

Band Camp:
– August 10–13 9-12:30, 5:30-9
– August 17–20 9-12:30, 5:30-9

Fall Season (School Year):
– Tuesday & Thursday evening rehearsals
– Friday night home football games
– Saturday rehearsals and/or competitions

Consistent attendance and reliability throughout the season are essential.

Compensation:
– Compensation is commensurate with experience and level of commitment
Paid through a combination of:
– District stipend
– Booster program

Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience teaching or performing in a marching percussion program
– Strong communication and leadership skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
– Passion for education and student growth
