Groups officially affiliated with a college or university are classified as University Groups. To be recognized as such by WGI, the group name must include the name of the institution.

Due December 31st:
- Participating Group Master Agreement, signed by a university administrator and an officer of the organization
- Participant Protection Requirements:
- Adult Supervisor List
- Participant Protection Practice (3P)

- Independent Group Requirements:
- Insurance – WGI will accept insurance from a school, university, or other educational institution if the school insurance covers all members. If the name of the group differs from the entity providing the insurance, the group name must appear on the certificate of insurance.
- Nonprofit incorporation is NOT required for University Groups
