“Every class has consistently surprised me with their creativity and vigor to foster positive growth and evolution within the WGI community. I eagerly anticipate examining our endeavors through their lenses. Their experiences and voices serve as invaluable learning opportunities, enabling us to evolve as an organization,” said WGI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Member Shavon Garcia.

The two pillars of the Future Leaders Program are ambassadorship and mentorship. Members also complete an annual grassroots project for the WGI community.

Future Leaders Program members receive the opportunity for individual mentorship with the WGI Board of Directors in areas relating to the future leadership of WGI. This includes organizational leadership, public service, artistic development, instruction, and judging. They will also learn about the programs, protections, and education WGI offers, with the end goal of becoming a leader in the pageantry arts.

Members also serve as a bridge between WGI, its Board of Directors, and the performing membership of WGI. Members will act as a conduit for their peers in bringing ideas, issues and questions to the leadership of WGI and engage in direct discussions on building future policies.

“The FLP stands as a beacon of hope and guidance, providing an anchor of positivity in an often tumultuous world. They embody the truest essence of our activity—kind, diverse, exceptional and committed individuals—serving as both our foundation and our future,” said Garcia.
