The 2025 WGI Advisory Board Meetings were held in Las Vegas this past weekend. The nation’s top competing groups gathered by division to discuss the philosophies that govern the indoor activity. Take a look at some of the highlights from the weekend below!
A recap of the event season
WGI CEO, Ron Nankervis, presented the annual season recap before the meetings began Friday evening. Details of group attendance at regionals and world championships were discussed, Dr. Will Frankenberger presented an update on current participant protection efforts, and a new regional event type was announced: Regional+ events!

WGI is proud to unveil the launch of Regional+ events for the 2026 season. Modeled after the highly regarded Power Regionals, Regional+ events feature a double panel of judges for all finals performances. With over 25 Regional+ events planned for the 2026 season, this expansion represents a significant investment in the educational and competitive experience WGI provides.

Proposals Were Reviewed and Voted on for the 2026 Season
Submitted proposals were reviewed by the WGI advisory boards for each division. At the conclusion of the weekend, all boards voted on their respective proposals, determining if new philosophies and policies will take place for the upcoming season.
